the best of European opera and ballet in stunning HD
 
(St. Louis, MO – Jan. 12, 2010) Fans of opera and ballet have asked Wehrenberg Theatres to continue the digital presentations of “Opera in Cinema” and “Ballet in Cinema,” and we have listened! Wehrenberg Theatres is proud to continue its partnership with Emerging Pictures to present world class cultural programming.  Starting Thursday, opera will again grace the silver screen at Campbell 16 Cine (4005 South Ave). 
 
This partnership will return the best in European opera and ballet presented in crystal-clear Hi-Definition and digital sound. It offers a rare opportunity to show some of Europe’s greatest operas in stunning Hi-Definition. “Opera in Cinema” will bring landmark works such as Il Viaggio a Reims, considered on of Rossini’s finest works, Otello, featuring one of the best Verdi conductors of our time in Riccardo Muti, and Monteverde’s Baroque masterwork L’Orfeo.
 
Also, Russia’s legendary Mariinsky Ballet Company (formerly Kirov) will showcase Stravinsky and the Ballets Russes, a collection of three one-act ballets.
